An newspaper company attacked by pressure group　Hinata Nishizawa & Yuki Sawano

   Yesterday morning, Yamaguchi-gumi, a right-wing pressure group, attacked the Asahi newspaper company in Tokyo. As a result, about 20 members of the group were arrested. At that time there were 500 people who were working in the company. There were 100 people injured. There were no fatalities. They used something like baseball bats to attack. Due to this attack, the company was damaged. For example, 1000 windows were broken, and some articles were stolen. The cost to repair the windows is 1,000,000 yen. The group suggested that the Asahi company tells people incorrect news, so they attacked. The Asahi did not publish today’s newspapers. The prime minister, KISHIDA Humio, said “It is unforgiveable to attack freedom of expression. We need to defend it.”

Hello! My name is Yu Obata, please call me Yu. I grew up in Niigata, and I live in an apartment near the Niigata University with my twin sister who also belong to Niigata University. I'm a 2nd year student, and my major is agriculture engineering. To overcome the weakness of speaking and listening to English, I take part in this English-language course. After this program, I will be able to speak English better than before. I like vegetable, rice, meat, fruit, and everything to eat, but I don't like bitter one like coffee. When I have free time, I often watch movies, eat something, drive a car, or talk with my sister. Though I like eating, I don't like eating out. Hi, my name is David Woodfield. I live in Dunedin, NZ, together with my wife, Patricia, our dog, Neo, and our daughter’s cat, Beetlejuice. I’m teaching this course in fulfilment of my duties as a teacher at the University of Otago. My likes include reading, watching TV and walking. I like reading books about faith, art & society. As for TV, I enjoy watching romantic movies. I like walking from my home to my office and taking Neo for walks around my neighbourhood . I’m not a fan of waiting in queues, eating chocolate that has a sticky or chewy centre, or trying to figure out what’s wrong when my computer isn’t doing what I want it to do. As you know, I am an English language teacher. I enjoy my job because I am interested in language and I like working with people from a variety of cultures. As for my good point, I would say it is that I’m optimistic. My bad point though is ‘leaving things to the last minute.’ My goal is to be a better person.
