Hinata Nishizawa

Hello, I am Hinata Nishizawa. I am nine-teen and 1st year student in Niigata University, Japan. I am from Itoigawa city in Niigata prefecture but I live in Niigata city in Niigata prefecture alone now. My family members are my father, mother, grandmother, and younger brother.

My majour is science. Especially, I want to learn geology in the University because my hometown is famous for geological spots like a below picture. I want to work as science teacher or curatour in my hometown in the future.

I like to read novels. So, I have an e-book reader and three cards for borrowing books from libraries of different three city. I like both of paper books and electronic books. On the other hand, I dislike to eat seaweed. Japanese people have a custom of eating seaweed and kelp. In actual, seaweed miso-soup is popular menu in Japanese traditional dishes. However, I do not like them.

I join this English course so that I can use English without hesitation. I have studied English for more seven years but I think that my speaking and listening skills should be improved. Espacially, I am not able to talk all of something I want to tell in English. I feel a little frustration then. So, I want to get confident for speaking English through this program.

I think my good point is optimistic and challenging personality. I am able to join an unknown event for me without afraiding. However, I have made mistakes because of being too optimistic. That is my bad point.

I am grad to spend interesting and great time with you. Nice to meet you!

  3. How interesting that you want to work as a teacher or curator in your hometown. I left my hometown after I graduated from college and I have never returned to live there. I wouldn't mind living there again, though, because my sister & her family live there, as do a number of my high school & college friends. In the meantime, I'll enjoy visiting there from time to time.
I would like to be able to understand better some of the striking geological formations I see on hikes & drives in the countryside. I guess I should read up on geology too. :-)

    1. Thank you for giving a comment! Then, I recommend you a novel, "Library War". It is written by Hiro Arikawa, Japanese writer. This novel has a lot of kinds of tales, action, romantic comedy, human drama, and so on. Also, we think about "freedom of expression" through the story. If you are interested in it, please try it!

  6. Hi Hinata. Actually I've never seen students who wants to study geology, so I think you have great interest! Do you have any other geological spots where you want to go and research? I also think your good points are wonderful, because I am very pessimistic and I always hesitate to try new things. I want to be the person like you!

    1. Thank you for giving a comment! As you have written, geology might be more obscure subject than other science subject(^-^; However, I want to study it. I also want to visit Fukui Verve Museum. It's about horizonal stripes which were built in bottom of lake. The lines were sand and mud from river. Reserchers use it to measure geological pereod.
I know the museum recently and I am interested in it!

I watch some YouTube English video with English caption. I can't understand the story of video if there is only sound. Through adding caption, I can enjoy it and know some words and phrases.
