Chinatsu Abe

 Hello, my name is Chinatsu Abe. I grew up in Tokamachi city in Niigata prefecture, and now I live alone in Niigata city near Niigata University. 

I am 2nd year student at Niigata University, and my major is Japanese studies, I am particularly interested in family sociology.

The reason why I participate in this English language course is to improve my communication and English skill. My dream for the future is a counter staff in tourist industry, I want to work at airport or hotel. After this course, I want to be able to speak English with more confidence than before.

I like to eat sweets and breads, and I don’t like to eat spicy foods such as curry or kimchi. I work part-time job as a salesperson at a bakery, so I really like my current part-time job!

I think that my good point is to be kind to others. It is hard for me to leave someone who need to help. I think that my bad points are that I have negative thoughts and that I am a perfectionist. I often suffer from anxiety; I think I should relax and enjoy without fear of failure.

    I impressed your sentence "It is hard for me to leave someone who need to help". I also think that to help someone who confuse is too important for them and myself beacause it is important to help each other for the society.

    Hi, Chinatsu. I heard there was heavy snow in winter in your hometown. Do you like snow? Your future job is wonderful! I sometimes use airport to go back to my hometown, staffs at the airport are very kind and helpful. I think you would be a person like them if you come to be counter staff. And the bread looks so delicious!

      I will try the bakery "Yoneyama" you recommended.
      My favorite breads of Seikyo are cream cheese brioche and apple pie. I often buy these breads after a class. When you go to Seikyo, Please try them!

    Although you love bread, what kind of bread do you like, or which prefer to like soft or hard bread?

Hello! My name is Yu Obata, please call me Yu. I grew up in Niigata, and I live in an apartment near the Niigata University with my twin sister who also belong to Niigata University. Hi, my name is David Woodfield. I live in Dunedin, NZ, together with my wife, Patricia, our dog, Neo, and our daughter’s cat, Beetlejuice. I’m teaching this course in fulfilment of my duties as a teacher at the University of Otago. My likes include reading, watching TV and walking. I like reading books about faith, art & society. As for TV, I enjoy watching romantic movies. I like walking from my home to my office and taking Neo for walks around my neighbourhood . I’m not a fan of waiting in queues, eating chocolate that has a sticky or chewy centre, or trying to figure out what’s wrong when my computer isn’t doing what I want it to do. As you know, I am an English language teacher. I enjoy my job because I am interested in language and I like working with people from a variety of cultures. As for my good point, I would say it is that I’m optimistic. My bad point though is ‘leaving things to the last minute.’ My goal is to be a better person.
