Study: Drought in US West Is Worst in 1,200 Years　ーYuki　Sawano

 

In 2021, the United States attacked drought. It is the worst in 1200 years. This situation caused to human-caused climate change and two main reasons.

 

One reason is the amount of precipitation is decreasing. Especially, the precipitation is decreasing in southwest in the United States. As a result, it leads to reduce in humidity and Forest fires are more like to occur.

 

Another reason is that human use water to grow to crops. We use the amount of underground water to grow it. So, Forest water absorption reduced.

 

The environmental and suitability researchers alert to in this condition. He said, “If human beings do against global warming, this situation is getting worse.”

 

We need to think to stop climate change and get into action against it.

 

At first, we need to reduce prejudice that is not connecting to our life. In fact, the drought changes the value of wheat.

 

Next, we move to stop global warming. For example, we turn off the light and use public transport and bike and so on.

 

We do anything to stop it step by step.

    Fascinating story! It is so hard to believe that the drought of 2021 was the worst in 1200 years. Rain is such a precious resource so indeed we have to do everything possible to stop it decreasing. If turning off the lights when I am not in a room can help keep the rain falling, I'll do it.

    If we don't do something to stop climate change, this worst record will change year by year. We should consider this problem more seriously and start act!
    Also, I'm interested in a phrease, "in 1200 years". Reseachers might have way to know past condition of drought by nature things, such a tree's growth ring, stratum, and so on. That's so interesting information for me. Thank you!

    I've never thought that the drought in the United States is such a serious situation. We should do everything to stop making causes of drought and also other environmental problem so that we can maintain the sustainable world for our future generations.

    Regarding your story, I remembered, the first thing I can think of Ms. Greta Thunberg is under promoting for climate change action.
    This action has given much impact, but also it became an action for one of create a chain reaction in the entire world.
    Have you ever seen to watch a video for her related?
    As you informed, now climate change action is one of something that someone recognizes needed to be addressed.

    After this story, it reminded me to think deeply, awaken to the reality of climate change.

    Before I read your report, I didn't know that the United States is affected by drought.
    I also think we can do something like you said to prevent the deterioration of grobal warming!
    I think that we can reduce the prejudice by knowing the damages of grobal warming around the world.
